History of the DISC
Since time immemorial humanity has had a deep desire for knowledge, of its environment, of others around it and of themselves. In ancient Greece they consulted Oracles, the ancient Greeks believed that these sacred institutions received help from divinities and could deliver prophecies regarding the future. Every important decision or topic of the Polis was consulted to some Oracle, declarations of war, questions of the harvests or the happening of some amorous history.
Curiously one of the most recognized oracles by the ancient Greeks, the Oracle of Delphi had the following inscription on his entry "Know thyself," a clear message from the Oracle to visitors, clarifying which was the most relevant knowledge.
Also in ancient Greece there were philosophers and scholars who delved deeper into the field of self-knowledge. Empedocles associated human behavior with the 4 elements (Air, Water, Fire, Earth), Hippocrates and Galen stated that personality was marked by the distribution of the 4 humors inside the organism. These scholars agreed that there were 4 great dimensions with respect to the way of being of people.

Many centuries later, the psychoanalyst Carl Gustav Jung, an outstanding disciple of Sigmund Freud, elaborated his theory of the 4 personality typologies, through 4 quadrants created by the crossing of the Introversion-Extroversion and Rational-Emotional vectors.

Later William Moulton creates the DISC questionnaire and the corresponding behavioral styles - Dominance (red), Influence (yellow), Steadiness (green), Correctness (blue) - DISC.
